Greenfield Cooperative Bank Earns Veribanc’s Highest Rating Once Again
We’re proud to share that Greenfield Cooperative Bank has once again earned Veribanc’s highest ranking of Green with Three Stars and Double Blue Ribbon (BB) in its June 30 quarterly report.
This distinction, known as the Blue Ribbon Bank® Commendation of Excellence, is awarded only to those institutions that achieve Veribanc’s top-tier Green, Three Stars rating- and then meet additional stringent safety standards. A double “BB” indicates that we have maintained this Blue Ribbon status for eight or more consecutive quarters, underscoring long-term financial excellence.
Veribanc’s two-part system evaluates both an institution’s current financial condition and its future prospects. The color code is based on equity as a percentage of assets and recent profitability, with Green being the strongest. The star rating reflects underlying asset quality, capital requirements, regulatory record, and exposure to problem loans, with Three Stars being the highest rank.
Veribanc’s Blue Ribbon recognition is highly prestigious- approximately 2,000 banks nationwide attain this status each quarter, and since the program’s inception in 1982, only one Blue Ribbon Bank has ever failed. This track record speaks of the rigorous, unbiased, and reliable design of their rating methodology.
Of the many banks in Massachusetts, only 12 achieved this distinction in the June 30 quarter, and Greenfield Cooperative Bank remains the sole bank in Western Massachusetts to do so.
Blue Ribbon Bank Commendation of Excellence from Veribanc stands as a powerful affirmation of our unwavering commitment to exceptional financial strength, stability, and the safest possible banking environment for our community.
We’re honored to be recognized for our strength and reliability, and we look forward to continuing to earn the trust of the communities we serve.
